a brief theory of becoming, pt 2

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?"

The Second Coming by W.B Yeats

so what?

why do we care if becoming can be called spiral shaped? to discuss the connections as they keep coming turn the feeling of coincidence into synchronicity.

stupidity is not defined by ignorance, but by the willful rigidity or closing off from the variety of experience. there are certainly stupid questions, dependent upon their intent to remain in comfort. so what? builds a wall from consideration, from experience, from difference that disavows an interest in making connection. the building of walls in the mind, in whatever shape they take, are methods of capture.

the mind walled off from connection is a mind in a bubble left floating, its wall protection designed to protect the ego, the "I" of your conscious mind, in a counterfactual structure leaves you open to the blowing winds of ideological capture. an ideology uses the "I" as a building block to form a rigid shape, one from which connection is lost. arborescence is the shape Deleuze calls this capture- a rigid hierarchical structure of a tree, with roots, branches, leaves and so on. The capture is central to the "suchness" Socrates creates with his metaphysics- that there is a nearness to the concept of "beauty" that we experience in our world is merely a shadow on the wall in a cave representing the idea that exists in reality in the light of the world, and we can only experience the limited inversion of such concepts.

The arborescent seed Socrates planted has been grafted onto throughout millennia, used to reshape thought into the mountainous amalgamation we face today. through christian revisionism, through constant capital recoding and deterritorialization and thousands upon thousands of connective distractions that have eliminated all possibility, our central tendency is now an unholy trinity dominated by authority: the ego-conscious "I", the local authority of the the nuclear family, and the puppeteer of the body of god - the decentralized tethered remnants of the voices of authority strung together through replicative vibration at a frequency which travels through our epigenetics, and that accumulative voice requires a resonant attenuator to hear but still maintains an epigenetic gravity under which control of the will to power of individuals is utilized. through the tripartite, all intentionality is captured, and the gravity of such a monument has totally encompassed desire. the only way out is out.

I. light cones; closed time connections

as discussed in part 1, becoming can be seen as a convex lens, but what shape does intentionality, or protention, take that directs? the convexality is driven by the will to power behind the restriction to becoming, but the ability to forecast what that intentional direction the will is taking is there; you know you want to walk to the door and you see the path you want to take to get there. you can see the lego on the floor underfoot and you know to sidestep it by a projection, the projection forecasts what exactly will happen to the autonomic hindbrain whose desire is to avoid pain reception, and that forecast takes the shape of a cone of light passing through the disparate, decentralized nervous tissue between the bicameral mind and the hindbrain and all the connective organic processes in between that make the connected unit process and move. If you zoom in on the lens, it may appear as a bundle of fiber optic wires protruding and receiving all of experience; necessarily there are holes and gaps from what is experienced in a time-instant and what happens, and the having-been takes the porous shape from the gaps in the experience engine. the forecast from the bundled synaptic experience is a light cone.

the light cone is a symbol of the process; the lens is an image of the experiencing, connected by the dozens of open sensational pathways and transit junctions to get to the directory systems which can perturb the decentralized processes to function in an apparent joint effort, the light cone is a projection of thought and past experience in constant reflection, refraction, diffraction, and development and refinement and etching and porous membrane occlusion and reopening, and most critically, physics shows that light can also bend through space via gravitational lensing.

I hesitate to reference Einstein. A history of cranks and crackpots attempting to tie themselves in some way to Einstein has left the counter-impression that credibility is lost once invoked; but the reference holds in more ways than one.

?

Relativity states that in flat spacetime, the future light cone of an event is the boundary of its causal future and its past light cone is the boundary of its causal past. this is precisely the shape occurring when picturing a central node of experience through a lens - this is a snapshot of a single instance in time connected by the lens of experience of an individual. so as discussed in part 1, the interior feeling of time appears linear and behaves as a fluid restrained by a porous membrane, whereas the thought projection beyond the interiority behaves as light and feels instant in reference to other experiences; your projections move at light speed, sub-observable in order to transmit beyond your own capability to observe them long enough to fully characterize their behavior. Since the visual metaphor we're creating is flat, it holds.

a light cone forecasts ahead of experience in anticipation; a light cone casts into the having-been as a retrojection of the experience as memory. we call memory fallible; memory in shape is a porous shadow, an inverse Socratic cave shadow displayed from his metaphysics, as the light cast onto the solidified having-been, and the shape this light takes from the pores and cavities and bends and rigid stalagmites and stalactites experience that make up your perceived referential self in that instance are the shape of memory.

and so, as our translations across relativity continue, we come to Gödel. Gödel, as a gift for his 70th birthday, gave Einstein pages of a new mathematical solution to Einstein's field equations of General Relativity. In this solution, a number of intriguing thoughts arise that through yet another coincidence, mapped directly onto the philosophy of becoming. The Gödel solution describes a universe where every observer perceives itself as the stationary center of a swirling cosmos, a homogeneously distributed pressureless dust particle filled rotating universe, rotating space in circles in reference to the particular observer. the rotation is balanced by a negative cosmological constant lambda. no dust particle may ever collide due to all being in free fall, but from their own perspective appear to be perfectly still. all other particles in this 4D space appear to be rotating with space, with the individual sees themself as unmoving. in this view, the visual frame appears to drag local frames of inertia intensely enough so that the light cones generated tilt over completely at a certain radius. with this effect, the light generated by the individual instance will reach a former instance after the instance has already occurred. Locally, to the observer, the light still appears like normal time flow (past/present/future), but to the outside observer, the light cone is bending around itself. although light is limited in travel in this universe to a certain radius, objects are not, and so, an individual could in theory, travel in time.

If you've seen Interstellar, you've seen this effect in cinema form.

for a few examples of how this viewing takes place, review this excellent video on the rotating universe. one additional observation to take from the time travel theory, or closed timelike curve, is the fact that in the Gödel universe, the present is not a possible state. Wait, what? yes, just like in part 1, Being is not a possible state. this stems from the fact that because closed timelike curves exist, there's no single way to slice time to define a moment as present because the presence of knots (if viewing the experience of time like a linear rope) disallow a single slicing of the rope to present a present moment without also slicing other potential "present" moments or even the "passage" of time.

so then the question that holds is: does the phenomenological experience of an individual take the form of a Gödel universe? perhaps it does not matter, but what does matter is what could possibly bend a light cone in our universe? the answer to that question dictates what invades and controls our own intentionality.

II. spiral out (keep going)

in the spiral model, many conceptions I drafted pulled in necessary physical constraints and at other times something completely new came out.

necessarily, the unexplainable experiences require an attempt at an explanation.

Near-Death Experiences (NDE) are an obvious frame of reference in the experience of becoming. they are central in defining who we are and what we become after they occur, and these causal meaning events must be catalogued and mapped. The NDERF is a massive catalog of such events. I do not intend to dive into the individual experiences and come out with an empirical meaning of life after death. What happens at NDE is a meaning generation point, quite like synchronicity, in which something extraordinary happens, and the connections you make lead you to further and further connections until you have developed a meaningful high point to your life. what this point is, what it can be, all that matters is the shape of your own personal becoming, which these NDEs seem to give at least one passageway to.

A NDE can be structured according to the image attached above: at birth, your becoming begins, but at the same time, a star is born alongside you- a potential, massless death-star following along the exact opposite sine-wave pattern of your having-been. these concurrent sine-waves rotate around an arbitrary core, following the path of two stars in gravitational orbit with each other, also known as a barycenter. this death star, should it cross your path of becoming, will appear in your experience as a NDE, or periastron, the point in orbit where a body is nearest the body it orbits. The having-been spiral and the death-trace counter spiral then form a double helix, coincidentally, the integral shape of DNA. and the one incredible shared conception to note: in the Gödel solution discussed previously, this death-star concept could be compared to Lambda - the necessary universal constant that makes a Gödel universe possible.

III. interpreting consciousness - attennuation from a decentralized body to the authoritarian "I"

Descartes, proginator of the cogito ergo sum, "I think, therefore I am", was a little bitch. By separating the mind from the body, and thus fabricating a metaphysics obfuscated as rational objectivity and the mind being some absolute space of identity and separateness from the world has damaged the internal world as much as Exxon has the external world.

All experience begins in the body. the "mind" as Descartes would have you picture, is a fabrication of a vacuous space inherently requiring fulfillment, generally with the ego "I".

take development of man and understanding of the body back to basics: we have evolved over billions of years. layers upon layers upon generations upon generations, from oceans of slimy protozoa to units of motility and consumption and splitting and dying and compounding and compounding and building and changing, cycling of life and genetic release and death and life and release and death, passing down hereditary evolutions and combining and developing differing apparatuses independently, and changing and growing, even into today we are changing and evolving. the body, as it is today, had each discrete internal process and system and organ develop through its own dependent-independent function which assisted in the genetic release and passing on of these genetics to the next iteration, developing the minutia of bodily processes into assemblages.

An assemblage is a joining of disparate parts coming together to complete a function. The common example is the the man-horse-bow: a Mongol warrior, through experiencing minor micro-development and iterative improvement through an awareness (constant adjustments in foot location and bottom orientation and leg squeezing and hand placement and balancing and bow motion, tension, practice and control through different shifts and positioning through the motions of a ride) into a conjoined motion become assembled from Type 2 thinking until the assemblage firms itself into a Type 1 automatic thinking where the assemblage literally becomes a thoughtless, near-biological process where the Mongol rider becomes completely fluid with the horse, himself, and his bow and seem to move as one unit, a "flow state" in the modern terminology.

The body is exactly this, where billions of cells and bacteria and parts and processes come together in millions of micro assemblages to become one experienced assemblage, the self.

and thus, the mind as pictured by Descartes is an abstraction in which there cannot be a singular, separate mind. all thought is connected through the body and an assemblage process brings that thought through thousands of connective processes within the body. but thought alone is not consciousness. Type 1 thought does not occur with any intentionality necessary, it simply occurs through the body because that is where the body was already headed before your awareness observed it. much like your lower intestine breaking down fibrous matter into shit, the body procures exogenous outputs in the form of thought, some nearer to the metaphor in scent than others. studies have shown that even the bacterial makeup of various type inside the stomach provide an assemblage connection to the likelihood of thought leaning depressive, especially so by the types of food provided to these bacteria to breakdown and consume to turn into metabolic energy, whether clean burning or gumming in the engine of intentionality (will to power) of the motile bacter. so through the combination of all the thousands of bodily assemblages, each limited by their metabolic capacity, the intentional individual is a culmination of each turn through the becoming, and their total intentionality is in turn also metabolically and physically limited by their location in space, as pictured by the light cone analogy. the edges of the light cone present all possible intentional opportunities the assemblage may syncretically achieve.

so... are we even conscious? what actually sets these processes apart from those made by animals?

the question of the existence of consciousness is an abstraction, a poorly phrased question rooted in a mind-body arborescent, dialectic materialist ideology. the imaginary "I" is simply a temporary authoritarian assemblage of the constant cycle of assemblages of becoming.

authoritarian? why slip that little word in?

the etymological breakdown of authoritarian follows:

  1. shared root through the word author
  2. The proto-indo-european root word -aug meaning to increase
  3. which then evolved into the masculine latin auctor which means one who causes to grow or gives to increase and originator, producer, father, master, leader then later trusted writer or teacher
    1. additional latin definitions to this word have interpretations which also interestingly include seller, vendor and Creator or God
    2. interesting permutations of the latin also include auctor vitae meaning originator or author of life, and auctrix which is a feminine originator, and auctoritas which is one with weight, authority, gravity, power or authenticity.
  4. which then evolved in old french into auteur/auctor/autour to mean creator, author, and instigator
  5. and whence in english, its iterative development grew from auctor, autour, or autor into modern transformation to include the -h through contamination of the word authentic (itself meaning of the same origin, genuine, or conforming to reality) to become differentiated from actor

So an authoritarian is the one who produces or increases (authors the story) or gives a concept weight (authentic rather than actor) from a shared origin. Consciousness is the authoritarian engine that gives you a referential "I" or "me" that is the becoming from a shared origin of many disparate parts. We can see this commonality not just in the self, but also in politics of a country, a state, a city, a people, in the home. All the disparate individuals are writhing in random entropic roiling movement and collision and waves of contraction and expansion and separation- a person of strong will makes a call for connection and that sound resonates with the masses, and redefines the story. In anarcho-syndicalist politics, it's known that there must be on occasion leaders to connect and guide collectively through turmoil; anarchy does not always stay leaderless. Leaders simply dissolve their authority when the need has ended.

what is interesting is we can see this phenomenologically. when you enter a flow state, this "I" dissolves temporarily and necessarily, so that all the parts can move in conjunction without a single director but many at once, together. Nietzsche recognizes this through the apparition of thoughts, Beyond Good and Evil §17: “a thought comes when ‘it’ wants, not when ‘I’ want.”; thoughts seem to come from the ether, from nowhere, plucked from a pool in another dimension, but really, this is coming from the many differing assemblages who have not become authority in the body, the body is the ether.

As an aside, one of the primary issues of our time is precisely that authoritarians have held onto their positions for longer than was called for. you can see it in their ages: we have a chain of the oldest presidents ever. Baby Boomers continue to work well into retirement and still hold the greatest concentration of wealth in history. our age has the stench of 2-nonenal, the old person smell, thus millennials and gen-z have all been described as old souls, but in reality we've just assumed the scent.
